Our History

Tinto After School Care (Glasgow) – where warmth, friendliness, learning, play and child development comes together.

In October 1993, Irene started Tinto After School Care (Glasgow), it had two members of staff and 8 children.

Now, 27 years later, Irene is still at the helm and Tinto After School Care (Glasgow) has grown, developed and expanded, there are now four members of staff and 64 children using the service.

Our staff are all PVG checked and SSSC Registered, they all have the relevant qualifications and are all fully trained.

They have a vast wealth of experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

We are a well-known and well-established part of the community.

It has been used by many families over the years and has even looked after generations of the same families.

Tinto After School Care (Glasgow) is a warm, friendly place, where children can learn, play, grow and develop.

Staff Training

Our staff have mandatory training for:

  • First Aid
  • Food Hygiene
  • Infection Control

They also have a continuous training program and have recently been on courses for:

  • Adverse Childhood
  • Experiences ACES
  • Assisting Children Through
  • Loss
  • Leadership
  • Play Therapy
  • Playworkers Toolkit
  • Therapeutic Training

In relation to the children, our staff are trained in such areas as:

  • Child Protection
  • Curriculum For Excellence
  • Getting It Right For Every
  • Child (GIRFEC)
  • SHANARRI
  • SSSC Codes Of Practice
  • United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
